Android lets you clear an app’s temporary files without touching your account or settings. This often fixes apps that crash, hang on loading screens, or show stale content.

Clear the cache

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Apps (on some phones: Apps & notifications or Applications).
  3. Find and tap the misbehaving app in the list.
  4. Tap Storage (or Storage & cache).
  5. Tap Clear cache.
  6. Reopen the app and check whether it behaves.

Note: Clear cache is safe — it only removes temporary files. Clear data / Clear storage is the nuclear option: it resets the app completely and signs you out. Only use it if clearing the cache didn’t help, and make sure you know your login details first.

If clearing the cache didn’t help

  1. Go back to the same Storage screen.
  2. Tap Clear data (or Clear storage) and confirm.
  3. Open the app and sign in again.
  4. Still broken? Delete and reinstall it.

iPhone users: iOS doesn’t have a per-app cache button. The equivalent is deleting and reinstalling the app.
